The proper name of the all inclusive, community oriented and diverse New Year’s celebration is First Night Charlotte. Activities will kick off at Romare Bearden Park at 1 p.m. with events for children until 6 p.m. The evening festivities begin at 8 p.m. and run until 12:30 a.m. with live airing on WBTV from 10 p.m. til 12:30 a.m. The event will feature artists, dancers, singers, circus performers and comedians.McDonald’s is offering free samples and you’ll even find a photo booth for free pics. The main act to bring in the new year is Sol Fusion.
