These vocalists harmonize songs that tell of their Haitian ancestors who were taken to Cuba to work sugar and coffee plantations under conditions that were close to slavery. The lyrics are in creole – the fusion of African, French and a few other languages spoken by about one million people. You’ll hear songs of exile, celebration and more.
